苏州工业职业技术学院（www.siit.cn）是二○○三年由江苏省人民政府批准成立的公办普通高校，是江苏省示范性高职院校建设单位。其前身可追溯到成立于1946年9月的“江苏省立苏州高级工业职业学校”，是苏州最早建立的工科类职业技术学校。

    苏州工业职业技术学院现设有精密制造工程系、机电工程系、软件与服务外包学院、电子与通信工程系、经贸管理系、文化与艺术系、国际教育学院、思想政治教学部、体育部、继续教育学院等10个教学单位，已开设数控技术 、模具设计与制造 、机电一体化技术 、电气自动化技术 、数控设备应用与维护 、计算机应用技术、计算机网络技术 、计算机信息管理 、软件技术 、动漫设计与制作 、电子信息工程技术 、应用电子技术 、电子测量技术与仪器 、通信技术 、经济管理 、市场营销、营销与策划 、电子商务 、物流管理 、商务英语 、商务日语 、电脑艺术设计（美术类） 、生化制药、自动化生产设备应用、旅游管理、财务信息管理26个专业。其中，省级重点建设专业4个，国家级重点建设专业2个。学院现有全日制学生近8000人，成教学生1200多人，拥有近百个独具特色的现代化实训工场、专业实验室、工程技术研发服务实体和624个校内外实习基地，设有国家职业技能鉴定所和各类国家级、省市级教育培训、技术应用基地25个。

    作为全国仅有的29所“机械行业校企合作与人才培养优秀职业院校”之一，苏州工业职业技术学院以“校企合作理事会”为载体，积极探索“校企”双主体人才培养模式，与艾默生环境优化技术(苏州)有限公司、百得（苏州）电动工具有限公司、克诺尔车辆设备（苏州）有限公司、卡特彼勒（苏州）有限公司、劳士领汽车配件（苏州）有限公司、三星电子（苏州）有限公司、安德鲁通讯器材有限公司、罗技科技（苏州）有限公司、明基（苏州）有限公司等50多家世界500强企业和亨通集团有限公司、苏州胜利精密制造科技股份有限公司、莱克电气股份有限公司、苏州固锝电子股份有限公司、苏州方正国际软件有限公司、信雅达（苏州）国际外包服务有限公司、江苏新宁现代物流有限公司、江苏苏汽物流有限公司等200多家知名民营企业建立紧密型合作关系，重点推进“订单式”培养和“厂中校”建设。近五年来，学院毕业生就业率始终保持在99%以上。

    同时，作为江苏省高等学校和谐校园单位，苏州工业职业技术学院具有完善的学生“奖、贷、助、勤、补、减、免”的助学体系，并以吴文化传承基地为载体，以科技创新为重点，以学生社团建设为抓手，组织开展大量文化特色活动。学院支持鼓励学生参加各级各类技能大赛，每年有50人次以上在全国职业院校技能大赛等各级各类技能大赛中获奖，学院被评为“江苏省职业院校技能大赛特别贡献奖”和“江苏省职业院校技能大赛先进学校”。

Suzhou Institute of Industrial Technology (SIIT) is a state-run college approved by Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government in 2003. It is a model higher vocational technical institute in Jiangsu Province. SIIT dates back to September, 1946, when the earliest engineering vocational school in Suzhou---- Jiangsu Provincial Suzhou Senior Industrial Vocational School was founded.

There are 10 teaching units in SIIT, namely: Precision Manufacturing Engineering Department, Metronic Engineering Department, Software and Service Outsourcing College, Electronics and Communication Engineering Department, Economic and Trade Management Department, the Department of Culture and Arts, the College of International Education, Ideological and Political Theory Course Training Department, Sports Department, the School of Continuing Education and Training Management Center. We offer 26 majors: Numerical Control Technology, Mould Devising and Making, Mechanical & Electrical Integration, Electrical Automation Technology, Application and Maintenance of NC Equipment, Computer Application Technology, Computer Network Technology, Computer Information Management, Software Technology, Animation Design and Production, Electronic Information Engineering Technology , Applied Electronic Technology, Electronic Measuring Technology and Instrument, Communication Technology, Economics Management, Marketing, Marketing and Planning, E-commerce, Logistics Management, Business English, Business Japanese, Computer Art Design, Biochemical Pharmacy, Application of Automated Production Equipment, Tourism Management, Financial Information Management. Among these majors, there are 4 provincial key construction specialties and 2 national key construction specialties. There are around 8,000 full-time students and 1200 students of adult education. The number of the outstanding modern workshops, specialized labs, engineering R & D service groups are over 100. There are 624 practice bases inside and outside of the school and 25 National Professional Skills Accreditation Institutes, all kinds of national, provincial and municipal-level education and training technology bases.

As one of the 29 excellent vocational colleges in school-enterprise cooperation and talents training in machinery industry, we take school-enterprise cooperation council as a carrier and explore dual-subject talents training mode actively. We have established close relationship with more than 50 enterprises among world’s top 500 enterprises, such as Emerson Climate Technologies (Suzhou) Co. Ltd, Black and Decker (Suzhou) Electric Tool Co. Ltd., Knorr-Bremse Vehicle Equipment (Suzhou) Limited, Caterpilla (Suzhou) Limited, Roechling Auto Accessories (Suzhou) Co. Ltd., Samsung Electronics (Suzhou) Limited, Andrew Communications Equipment Co. Ltd. , Logitech (Suzhou) Limited, BenQ (Suzhou) Limited, and over 200 well-known private enterprises, such as Hengtong Group Limited, Suzhou Victory Precision Manufacturing Technology Corp., Lexy Electrical Company Limited, Suzhou Gude Electronic Company Limited, Founder International Co. Ltd, Sunyard (Suzhou)International Outsourcing Service Ltd, Jiangsu Xinning Modern Logistics Ltd, Jiangsu Suzhou Automobile Logistics Ltd. We focus on promoting order training and factory-in-school building. In recent 5 years, the employment ratio of our graduates keeps higher than 99%.

Meanwhile, as a Provincial harmonious school, it has a perfect student-assisting system--- award, loan, assistance, work-study, supplement, reduce, exempt. Taking Wu-culture base as a carrier, focusing on innovation of science and technology, building students associations, the cultural activities are diversified. SIIT encourages students to take part in skill competitions of all levels and types. Every year more than 50 students win awards in National vocational school skill competition. Our school won the special contribution award and was honored as the advanced school in Jiangsu Province vocational skill competition.
